The Outnet Sale Just Made Me Really, Really Excited for Fall

Hello! And welcome to the most exciting shopping season of all. While end-of-summer sales excel for their range of impractical blouses and heavily discounted swimsuits, this year I’m shopping quite differently. Now, I’m looking for pieces that will last season after season—or at least until we can finally show off our clothes in public again. (That’s not to say I won’t share a photo or two of a new pair of track pants, the item I’m on the hunt for right now.)

Below, come along and shop with me at the Outnet sale, which is an extra 20% off clothing with code GET20. It ends on the 16th (that’s tomorrow!).

It’s About to Be Time to Swap Your Shorts for Lounge Pants

My favorite category for the foreseeable future: lounge pants. The three outfits I’ll probably wear the most this fall are: leggings + chunky sweaters, cozy joggers + long sleeve T-shirts, and silky pants + button downs. Some bonus pant ideas: beachy knit pants (which summer alive but still cover your legs), track pants (a break from joggers), patterned culottes, a jumpsuit, and then there are these, which are just… money. All of these are easy to pull off with any of the bottoms below!

Knitwear to Keep It REALLY Cozy

It’s strange to think that soon I won’t be able to go outside with just shorts and a tank, but the addition of a sweater is always welcome. Something like this hooded knit will be great paired with a pair of tan checked or gray plaid trousers. I love this deep green knit turtleneck or this heather grey crewneck, and either would be cozy with a pair of leggings. A cardigan is great for easy layering. This fisherman-style cable-knit sweater is my top choice for winter … and you better believe that season’s next. I’ve been eyeing this one from Preen for longer than I’d like to admit. I can confirm that both this cozy baby blue and this rich red Ganni one are incredibly soft. I’m personally still on the tie-dye train and don’t see it stopping anytime soon. Then of course, there’s nothing like a striped sweater (I like to wear mine with a strand of pearls—an easy way to elevate your home look for video calls).

Dun dun dun… Denim!

Not everyone is ready to think of jeans—but some of us can’t quit denim. I actually think that if it’s the right pair, jeans can be really comfortable—what I gravitate toward isn’t trend-driven and therefore has a long shelf life. To me, there’s nothing better than a pair of high-rise, straight-leg jeans. I’m also one to wear a lightweight, crisp blue pair. I’ve found some additional options, including a bright red pair and a cool pair with patchwork detailing—either of which will satisfy whatever your denim cravings are, should you have them.

Let me know what you’re eyeing or if you need some extra help getting started in the comments below!
