Bandana-Print Shirts, Blingy Rings, and Fall’s Coolest Top—All on Sale

I stumble across so many treasures on the internet while finding market for other stories. Here’s where I’ll share them with you, alternating weekly between vintage/second-hand and contemporary finds. Sign up here for our Shopping Newsletter, with eight additional finds every Friday.

You know when you see a look you can’t stop thinking about? That happened to me last week with Maxhosa Africa’s show—specifically, the styling. Even though it’s for SS21, a lot of the looks were applicable for right now—starting with pairing knee-high socks + shorts. I immediately ordered myself a pair of knee-high socks on sale.

There’s more where that came from. Here, my pick of the extremely fun dressing options for this in-between weather—including blingy rings, bandana tops and the most fun jeans on the market, in my humble opinion.

1. The Answer to In-Between Weather

Maxhosa Africa SS21 show via Essence

Ever since the Maxhosa Africa SS21 show last Wednesday, I’ve had knee-high socks on the brain—pairing them with shorts is the most clever solution to this transitional weather. I will surely invest in a pair from Maxhosa Africa once available, but for now, I’ve found some really cool knee-highs on sale.

2. Floral Jeans for Fall

When doing the market for Beth’s patterned pants story, I came across a ton of really cool options. I personally am now drawn to floral jeans—embroidered or printed—with chunky sweaters in this cooler weather. I included a pair of men’s floral track pants by Martine Rose because I also have days when I’m committed to comfort.

3. Blingy Rings

I recently began wearing rings again! Adding my rings when getting dressed for the day feels special and makes me feel more put together. Some of my top picks are now on sale—like this one from Mondo Mondo, which I’ve been eyeing for years.

4. If You’re More into Everyday Rings

If you’re more of an everyday ring kind of person (I sometimes am… I go through phases), I love chunky gold ones or bright colored bands—they make me smile as I’m typing away at my computer. For example: these lucite Corey Moranis ones, which also look soap-friendly.

5. Bandana-Print Tops

I have a short-sleeve bandana-print button-up and a bandana sweater, both of which I acquired years ago—they figure significantly among my most-complimented pieces. I fully cheated and included a vintage bandana sweater not on sale (but a good price!) because it looks like the exact one I have, and I would love for us to match. If you don’t want to go full paisley, why not try a little accent with a bandana scarf like this one from Can’t Buy Respect!

6. Snazzy Statement Loafers

I’m not really shopping for shoes right now, but loafers are such a timeless option if you do want to dip your toe into fall footwear. Look at these crazy mismatched ones from Camper—a brand that provided shockingly comfortable shoes for long commutes of yore. Also: a metallic pair! A graphic pair (to wear with my printed pants or bandana top)! A fun snake-embossed blue loafer instead of my usual black! Or… wild card: an oxford! This pair is leopard-print.

7. The Top for Fall

Remember how cool Anaa Saber looked in her outfit from our Fashion Week at Home Street Style story from last week? Same. I’ve been thinking about her gorgeous, off-the-shoulder knit top ever since—just in case you’ve been thinking about it, too, here are a few on sale.

8. Embroidered with Love Sweatshirts

Fun loungewear! I’m not yet and don’t think I’ll ever be sick of sweatshirts. My favorite look—once I have places to go to — is a cool sweatshirt + a tailored pair of pants (ideally wide-leg plaid wool). I’m eyeing the below ones, especially this Boss one from Omondi or these reworked Nike ones sold on Etsy (which aren’t on sale, but I really, really had to share).
